Notes
#n = same as the amount required to buy a skill level n from 0 (eg
#3 = 1+2+3 = 6).
Attack programs other than STRIKE are analogous to fire attacks,
they suceed on a ROUTINE roll. The only defense to these is DODGE,
or a specialist defense program. Program accuracies are added to
deck accuracy, and the total is divided by four to get the accuracy
bonus for running the program.
ALARM Volume 1
Notifies a local program of a particular event.
Cost (Lv) 10.
ANTI-LEAPER Volume 5 + #acc + charges
Fools an attacking LEAPER program into attacking the DEF stat
instead of its intended target. The program can be run
ROUTINEly in reponse to any attack. Use of this program uses up
the defenders next action.
Cost (Lv)
BLANK-MIND
A rumoured lethal (and therefore illegal) program that can
attack directly into a (jacked) netrunners mind, and physically
damage them - once their DEF has been reduced to zero.
BLOCK Volume 1 + #acc
Deflects a STRIKE on a DIFFICULT roll. Requires the CPU running
it to have DEF > 0, or else the task becomes FORMIDABLE. Only
STRIKE can be used in the next action after BLOCK has been
run.
Cost (Lv) 100 + 25#acc
BLUDGEON see STRIKE
BONDAGE an acc=4 version of GRAPPLE
CHAMELEON Volume 6 + (1+#acc).charges
Gives an evasion bonus equal to its accuracy.
Cost(Lv) 100 + 25#acc + 10.charges
CHOP-SUEY
An illegal BLACK-ICE program that can damage the (jacked)
netrunner bodily, but only if their deck has been reduced to
ATT=0, DEF=0, SPD=0, ACC=0.
DETECT Volume 4 + acc
Has a chance to detect any net traffic that passes by. They are
rated by the chance any traffic has to suceed in any normal
evasion attempt. An accuracy of 0 means evasion is ROUTINE.
Cost (Lv) 200 + 50.accuracy
DODGE Volume 3 + #acc
This program may be run in respones to an attack, and makes
that attack one degree harder to perform. Running this
defensive program uses up the CPU's next action.
Cost (Lv) 150 + 20#acc
ENVELOPE: Volume 5 + (1+#acc)(1+defense). Envelops an executing
program in a data screen.
Cost (Lv) 250 + 50#acc + 25#defense
FAST FORWARD Volume #(DSP-2)
A one-shot program that increases the decks speed for this turn
by DSP. This speed never gives extra actions, if the total
COOL+SPD+DSP is greater than 10, treat it as if it were 10.
Execution can be tied to some action, so that it does not
necessarily require an action to be run.
Cost (Lv) 50 + 25#DSP
FRY
An illegal BLACK-ICE program that can cause bodily damage to a
(jacked) netrunner. It can only be used if the targets deck has
been reduced to DEF=0 and SPD=0.
GRAPPLE Volume 5 + acc
If run in combat with a system, it makes any attempt by the
target to EVADE or jack-out harder.
Cost (Lv) 1600 + 100.acc
ICE
This is built up like a VIRUS. Static ICE has DETECT, ALARM,
and an often an attack program built in. Mobile ICE (called a
PHAGE) has the extra program NAVIGATE and a volume-1 datafile
describing its movement pattern. The task roll required to
evade is written as a prefix to the stats, eg R0110 for ICE
that can be ROUTINEly evaded. Static ICE is usually run on
dedicated hardware. PHAGEs are usually run remotely from the
security CPU's, but occaisionally are designed to have their
execution site move around with them.
ICE ++ Static ICE example: D1441Jumper-0x4
This is DIFFICULT to evade; has stats ATT=1, DEF=4, SPD=4,
ACC=1; and has the attack program JUMP with accuracy 0 and 4
charges. The presence of a non-zero ATT implicitly means it
also has STRIKE. As with all ICE, it also has ALARM. Its full
designation would be: v1441 [Alarm-0, Strike-0, Jumper-0x4,
Detect-15]@50
ICE ++ PHAGE example, based on the static ICE example would be
denoted P-D1441Jumper-0, but its full listing would be: v1441

JUMPER Volume 3 + (1+#acc)(1+charges)
Bypasses defenses and attacks active volume 10 points further
in.

KIPPLE
An illegal BLACK-ICE program that can cause bodily
damage to a (jacked) netrunner. It can only be used if the
targets deck has been reduced to DEF=0, SPD=0, and ACC=0.
LEAPER
Volume 5 + (1+#acc)(1+charges)
Bypasses defenses and attacks predesignated deck-stat.
Cost (Lv) 300 + 25#acc + 25.charges
MIRROR IMAGE Volume 4 + (2+#acc)(1+charges)
When the opponent attacks, the defender makes a DIFFICULT task
roll (computer, accuracy, charges spent) to fool the opponent
into attacking an image. There is one image per chargeused.
Cost (Lv) 300 + 25#acc + 25.charges
NAVIGATE Volume 1 + acc
Navigates to a specific location. An unopposed run through
normal channels is SIMPLE.
Cost (Lv) 25 + 10.acc
NETWARE Volume 10
Generates the virtual reality environment.
Cost (Lv) 500
PIGGYBACK: Volume 6 + max_N + 2.acc
This allows multiple users/cyberdecks to act as a single unit for
the purposes of evasion and movement. The program must be run on all
decks in the "deck cluster". The maximum number in the cluster is
max_N. One deck should be specified as the "external" deck, this is
the target of all offensive actions by other processes. In addition,
the total speed of all the decks is reduced by (1+2.max_N-acc). The
decrease in speed each deck suffers can only be at most one point
away from the average speed decrease in the cluster.
Cost 500 + 40.max_N + 200£acc Lv
PHALANX
A military program which can bypass the targets DEF and attack
any stat of the system. It can also find and attack a program
of the attackers choice.
REBOOT Volume 10 + #acc
Reboot a defeated CPU, under the control of this program. A
ROUTINE sucess is required. A defeated CPU is one with its DEF
and SPD reduced to zero. The rebooted CPU's stats will be 11S1,
where S is its usual speed. One extra point is gained in each
of the other stats per minute waited, up to the CPU maximums. A
1-point reboot activates the CPU, a 2-point will typically
activate defensive ICE, and a 3-point will reactivate any
PHAGES.
Cost (Lv) 1000Lv + 100#acc
RECORD Volume 1 + data_volume
Records any information desired: files, events, etc. The
data_volume does not have to be either contiguous with the
1-point program, or even be preallocated.
Cost (Lv) 100
STRIKE Volume 1 + #acc
Allows the netrunner to 'strike' with a ROUTINE chance of
sucess in cyberspace combat. This program can only run if the CPU has ATT > 0.
Cost (Lv) 100 + 25#acc
VIRUS Volume 1 + #ATT + #DEF +#ACC +#SPD + volume
The SPD of a virus is usually limited to 1, unless it is
running on a 'friendly' host. .volume is the total volume of
the sub programs and data carried by the virus. If it is being
run off a deck, then it reduces the decks SPD by 5. If the
decks SPD is already 5 or less, then the virus uses up one
action.Cost (Lv) 25 +25#ATT +25#DEF +25#SPD +25#ACC
VIRUS ++ DATA SHUTTLE virus transferring a 5 volume file.

WRENCH 4 + 2#acc + charges
Rebuilds any program from any remnant, even only a single
volume point. If 75% remains the task is ROUTINE, for 50% it is
DIFFICULT, for 25% FORMIDABLE, and for less it is IMPOSSIBLE.
