T2300 NETRUNNING ANALYSE - DIFFICULT; 1hour; Computer, Accuracy The analysis of data (eg the actions of some ICE) can give a bonus to further interactions with the source of the data. For example, if a netrunner has recorded the surface actions of some ICE for 10min, sucessful analysis can the give a bonus to attempts to evade it. The bonus is equal to half the margin of sucess, plus one, and rounded down. It is necessary to record data equal to the size of the program to be evaded. Note that in most cases only the DETECT program of the ICE needs to be EVADED. Repeat analysis of the same data (or program) do not allow the accumulation of bonuses - only the best can be picked. BYPASS PASSCODE - VARIABLE; 30sec; Computer, Accuracy Eg. an airport security system is DIFFICULT to bypass. COPY A FILE - SIMPLE; instant; Computer, Accuracy This task does not include breaking any protection on the file. COPY A SECURED FILE - ROUTINE; 1 action per 10 volume (absolute); Computer, Accuracy. This task does not include breaking any protection on the file. EVADE DETECTION - VARIABLE; Instant; Computer, Accuracy The degree of difficulty is determined by the type of ICE, and on any programs the netrunner may be using. (a) SUCESS means that the ICE has been passed without detection. Further attempts to pass the same ICE installation are then one degree easier. (b) RETRY means the attempt was unsuccessful, but other tries can be made. (c) A failed CHECK means the ICE cannot be evaded by the methods being used. A 'quick and dirty', and HAZARDOUS further attempt can be made, at one degree harder. No retries are allowed, and any failure causes at least a superficial mishap. (d) SUPERFICIAL DAMAGE means the ICE is 'suspicious', and is now one degree harder to evade. (e) MINOR MISHAP means the ICE has set off its ALARM, and will initiate its attact in the next round according to initiative. (f) MAJOR MISHAP means the ICE has set off its ALARM, and gets an immediate attack. BLOCK may be used to parry a STRIKE. (g) TOTAL MISHAP means the ICE has set off its ALARM, and attacks immediately with surprise - its attack is one degree easier. JACK OUT - ROUTINE; instant; Computer, Accuracy MOVE - AUTOMATIC; 1 turn (absolute) The moving system can travel across a node, or along a wire connecting two nodes in one move. A system cannot move if in netcombat with another system. Any attempt to move through a node with detection programs (ICE) without EVADING leads to automatic detection, and the moving system is halted and any ICE will respond/ interrogate/ attack according to its design. RUN A PROGRAM - AUTOMATIC; instant; Computer, Accuracy RUN A PROGRAM ON A FOREIGN HOST - VARIABLE; instant; Computer, Accuracy To do this the netrunner must have permission (SIMPLE) or have reduced the targets DEF to zero (DIFFICULT); and have COPIED the program into the targets volume. SEARCH - VARIABLE; 1 turn; Computer, Accuracy, Speed
